took forever but I decided that I should keep blogging, life continues to be freaky!
noticed the other day that the relative visible size of the moon matches exactly the relative visible size of the sun creating a perfect solar eclipse which in turn allows certain scientific discoveries, been laughing from chuck norris jokes always fun, found my ex-wife on facebook also not fun, watched her profile for a while but it got boring, and yes I'm on facebook now, nice fudged up name nobody would really recognize me as, it's "Armchair Sociologist" if you dont get the joke.. it's someone who likes to complain about society but doesn't do anything about it, or at least someone who has the clarity of thought to intelligently comment on societies ills. guess I'll have to start adding some more music to the player soon, did download about a gig of traditional chinese music for down time. winter is comming on, I ended up finally getting a car and am now paying on a loan at 33.99% interest makes me want to shoot someone, hopefully I can pay it off quick or move the loan over to a credit union, gona ask my uncle and aunt if they can help me out. back to playing diablo, tiger woods 08, civ 4, and occasionally sim city 4, my computer is hosed, blew a capacitor and now my +12v rail runs and 9.7v I can still run the machine but have to run it at 1.25Ghz instead of 1.67Ghz, that is on the list of things to get, tommorow I'll put down info about the current job.

I never knew there had been so much discussion on the topic of having a 4th matrix Movie.

It seems a lot of people didn't like the idea, and the studio heads were against it. I tell you though, it wouldn't be a bad idea. The underground fan base is huge and I think it would be received well if done right and with finesse.

Here is my idea for a plot synopsis;

Mostly sequel/continuation-summation, part prequel.

The time frame is 40 years after the end of Revolutions. Locke is dead, Morpheus now sits on the council and is an old man and is married to Niobe who is an old woman but of course still hot. The truce created by Neo (Many would like to think 'Peace", but the tension of future conflict continues to exist) has brought about a scientific renaissance in Zion. Since 01 exists around the Arabian desert area, Zion is within hovercraft distance putting it roughly 600 to 1000 miles away. I like to imagine that it is near St Petersburg, Russia. and that the mountains Neo and Trinity flew over to get to 01 were the Caucuses.

Due to this renaissance, Zion has flourished and has established satellite colonies and a population explosion has increased the total numbers of humans to about 1.25 million. One of the scientific efforts of both Zion and the Machines is to develop near earth orbital flight and possibly space travel to escape the ravaged planet for humans; and to expand beyond earth for machines (being not limited to oxygen breathing environments). In the efforts to advance this goal and expand new colonies. explorers of Zion unearth documents from a previous site of human habitation. Within these documents are evidence of the "Dark Star" projects and technical papers and how to reverse it, including a small seed bank/dna storage for restoring Earth to it's former state.

Once the Matrix had been rebooted due to Neo's efforts, the Machines along with the Architect re-designed it somewhat to resemble a more futuristic world than what is shown in the original movies (Standard future world with slant on obvious impossible technologies [It's all computer generated anyway so why not?]) Within these documents are the journals of the original "One" referred to by Morpheus in Matrix 1 (cut to storyline on how the first Zion was built. Him waking up in the on a wall with other humans strapped in (no tanks this time). his recovery, learning to hack in, waking others.

Armed with knowledge on how to reverse the scorched sky. They realize that they must finally and completely destroy the machines or with the re-appearance of the sun the whole cycle would restart. A New Hero arises from the groups of explorers, who with his band of adventurers... take the info back to the council asking to begin work on a plan to cripple 01 and bring about the downfall of machine civilization. Using technologies developed in secret similar to the "lightning guns" used previously they slowly encroach upon 01 using dampening stations designed to disable all electronic equipment in front of it (think portable EMP generators that are always on). They begin to decrease the territory available to Machines causing the world of the Matrix to disintegrate and waking more and more people out of their sleep induced prisons. This causes the resurgence of religious doom saying and prophesying the coming apocalypse as this future society begins to crumble and show signs of decay within the Matrix. The Machines, unable to combat this new threat, begin to fear for their existence. and start plans for an Ark to be used to flee to some other planet in the solar system (Mars!? Moon? Mercury?)

As time passes, we see that humans have in earnest taken the war to the Machines and have begun to infiltrate 01. While others protest, saying that we should learn to live with the machines, but since the current political atmosphere is Hawk, we go to WAR! We cut again to the original one adding to his journals that one day the choice will have to be made as to who the Earth belongs to, us or the Machines, as he lays it in with the other documents and such to be found later he hopes to be used for the occasion our movie is about. Our hero has a showdown with the manifestation of the Architect as he exists in the real world, while they are attempting to plant a super nuke type bomb to destroy 01. The Architect is destroyed, and as the humans flee to prepare for the explosion (of course one must stay behind to sacrifice themselves) we notice our hero and a few of his strike team see three lonely ships blast off into space. 01 blows up and the machine city is destroyed as the survivors are hunted down. The Matrix is dismantled, many are saved but many die at the destruction of the mainframe. All cheer! Some cry. Whoo Ho! Wah Wah. and Morpheus has his moment of pride in our Hero seeing the similarities to Neo in him. (Our Hero could be "the kid" from Matrix 3?)

Epilogue:
Another 40 years has passed and we see humans working in a field under a setting sun along with animals. Our Hero is now the old man and is married and has kids of his own. some machines are being used as farm implements but mostly hand tools and other props befitting an agrarian setting. We cut one last time to the original "one" making preparations to sacrifice himself to save the first Zion and saying to his people. "Our fight is not in vain. no struggle is ever in vain. The courage you show today, though it may cost your lives, gives hope to those who come after." Cut back to our hero speaking to his son. looking up and a darking sky with a small red dot(Mars) or moon, and saying "Our fight was not in vain". Pan out to space zooming to mars where we see what looks like habitation. (Where will it all end moment?)

Cut to credits and Fin.

Now if I see this movie, I'm suing!

Well what a fudged up weekend. Tried to get my sleeping schedule back around to normal hours but no luck there. Still live like a vampire, awake with the Moon. I took off the pictures from last post because I find I can create multiple blogs under the same log in. So this will be the primary and the other will be for the guys...

So I figured out how to get a DVD successfully ripped. The first 6 programs I tried out sucked rocket balls. but once I found one with the right features. I was able to get it to 70 minutes CDR size.

One interesting thing I noticed is that at 588 kbps for the video, whenever the movie gets "busy' (lots of movement, many colors) I get heavy mosaic pixilation. I had one ripper that offered the ability to increase the bit rate by a percentage value when stream contains more data, but this one doesn't have it.

Need to go to bed.

Movie Reviews

I will now offer a review for the following three movies. "Sunshine", "Elizabeth: The Golden Age", and "Across The Universe".

Sunshine is the story of a group of petulant 20 somethings who seem to think they are scientists. We've got the main character from "28 Days Later" playing the lead role, (but you wouldn't know it till about 28 minutes till the end), and Michelle Yeoh form Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon.

The premise is that a "Q" or "Cue" Ball (theoretical object of foreign super-stable matter that disrupts the fusion of a star, -stated in commentaries) has accelerated the life span of our sun, plunging earth into a "Nuclear?" winter. (I thought you needed a nuclear war to have a nuclear winter) So, Earth sends the best and brightest (who also seem to be the youngest and most angst-ridden) to drop a bomb on the sun. A Nuclear bomb the size of Manhattan! It is the second of such attempts, the first having been lost seven years ago. I give credit for the use of the name "Icarus" as the ships name, funny, that. (Don't fly to close to the sun, or your dick will fall off! Excuse me, I mean wings.) In flight, after loosing contact with Earth , long before reaching Mercury, they learn that Icarus 1 is still intact, but unmanned and dormant. Or so they think... After asking Mr. "I'm the last man in England" if it is feasible and prudent to dock with Icarus' payload and fly it to the sun first (hey, two bombs are better than one, right?), they learn that the Captain of the first mission is insane, on their ship, and hell bent on the destruction of the human race, because God told him to do it. After he sabotages their attempts to get back to their ship, leaving three behind and only one space suit (oh no!) they are going to space walk the twenty meters without suits (it will just be a little cold..) So at this point, they are dying off like flies under the scalpel of the other Captain, who I should add looks like a third degree burn victim because he is obsessed with sitting in the observation bay, watching the sun unfiltered, and has been getting one hell of a tan. A passion shared by one of the members of our crew. We are finally left with just the main protagonist, his girlfriend (of course!), and the antagonist, battling it out in the Manhattan Bomb, (which has it's own gravity you know!) as it plummets into the corona of Sol. Will the bomb go off? I won't spoil that part, and then we all have a tear-jerker moment as his family back on Earth, look up and ... now go watch the movie.

I was unimpressed overall with the lack of logic utilized in plot structure, and it seemed like a lot of the science was moved aside to make room for seat-filling tension and drama. The concept is not new, (anyone remember "The Core"?) and the special effects, if slick, could have been more detailed. If you are in the mood to keep waking up at the bright lights your eyes are assaulted by as you sleep through this movie, then rent it. Otherwise, save it for a night when you've got nothing else to do.

Now for "Elizabeth: The Golden Age". I have always been a fan of period pieces, and after watching this, still am. The sequel to 1998's "Elizabeth", which also stared Cate Blanchett. This film includes other heavy weights like Clive Owen, Geoffrey Rush, and Jordi Molla (who was Diago Delgado in "Blow", great actor!). Any history buff knows the story, and even if you are not a student of history, most have heard of the story of the sinking of the Spanish Armada by Admiral Drake and an outnumbered English fleet. Attempting to humanize the historical figure of Queen Elizabeth, using her background of human passions and the internal struggle of leadership, the movie does a exemplary job of bringing to life the world of pre-Victorian England. With dark tones used to symbolize the struggle behind the seat of power, and lighter colors found in many cathedrals and palaces found throughout England as the setting for the day to day life of court, visually the movie strikes the perfect tone for telling the story of the maturing of Queen Elizabeth into the divine Matriarch she later was. One sour note would be the role of Sir Walter Raleigh, played by Clive Owen. Enough with the leading men already. If it is an historical movie, write the role historically, or at least give enough background to create a believable character, rather than just as a supporting role that serves only to move the plot froward at the appropriate time. I'm not saying that Clive Owen acted poorly, just that his character wasn't written with enough depth to get me to care for his personal struggle amidst the struggle for England's survival in the face of Spain and the Roman Papacy's efforts to dethrone a protestant monarch. Lastly, Cate Blanchett was hot armored up and ready for battle!

If you like this kind of thing, I would certainly suggest adding this to the wide selection there is available in this genre. Be warned though, it is really just a chick flick, romance, intrigue, and no you don't get to see Mary, Queen of Scots noggin roll across the floor.

Lastly, the movie "Across The Universe", the send up of all the Beatles songs you remember from the 60's. I save it last because in comparison to the other two, I consider it the best. if a close tie with "Elizabeth: The Golden Age".

You probably never have seen it, but there is a movie out there called "Hair". This is that movie redone with better special effects and just Beatles songs. I will say, I think we need more movies like this, freak outs with celluloid, psychedeliciousness, little orange barrels for your eyes, LSD 35mm. Crafting a story out of a selection of Beatles Musicalia, the story follows young Jude as he skips to America to find his G.I. father during the inception of the Vietnam War, and the protests that came along with it. After meeting Max, a young, Princeton attending, rebel; they skip to New York to meet the rest of the characters; Sadie, Jo Jo, Prudence, and Lucy. Jude struggles to find his artistic voice as Lucy, Max's sister, joins up with local radicals to stage protests. Sadie is a local musician that takes them all in, and with Jo Jo gets discovered by a record producer looking to sign new talent. Max is sent his death notice (read- Draft Letter), and after a hilarious scene involving the local military indoctrination center, is sent off to Vietnam. The group eventually gets torn apart by the pressures of the society they find themselves in, Jude and Lucy are torn apart by her obsession with taking a vocal stand against the politics of the day, until she learns her mentor is now not just a bomb hater, but a bomb maker. Jude is arrested at a rally trying to apologize to Lucy for storming in to the apartments of the radical group and is shipped back to England. He returns, legally this time, to find Sadie back with Jo Jo, on the roof of the record label, doing an outdoor concert. Max has returned from the war a changed man, and together they search for his sister, in the hopes of re-kindling Lucy's love for Jude. With performances by Bono, Joe Cocker, Eddie Izzard, and Selma Hayek, and references to the times more known reprobates like Ken Kesey and Abbie Hoffman, I would highly recommend this movie to both young and old alike. As an examination of the realities faced by hundreds of thousands of young men and women during this turbulent time, added with the flippant use of period designs, the message is still positive enough to leave one with a fresh feeling rarely reached by most modern movies. I expected more psychedelia and the movie could have certainly used it, but I feel the director, Julie Taymor may have gotten "tamed" herself since those heydays of dropping acid and playing music on the beach till dawn. One last note, Eddie Izzard's performance as Mr. Kite fell flat, due to I think the lack of structured direction available on set. An open forum may foster fresh ideas, but occasionally a strong vision and firm hand brings what actors have to offer out in full. Either that, or he was just to high to be on set that day.

Well there you go, my first solid attempt at movie reviewing, hope you had a good read. Look for more in the future. If I had to pick one movie that I would buy the DVD of, it would have to be "Across The Universe", but I am a big Beatles fan and I love the "Freak Out"

What in the Hell is this? From what little I can find, it is some kind of fruit. I have decided to call it the "Fractal Fruit".

The varied forms of nature only prove to remind us of the guiding hand behind the illusion of self will. All invention is just an expression of the creative urge that is a part of the design of the Universe itself. Existence invents itself, you're just the paint brush. As a theory of a friend 'o mine goes "the Big Bang didn't just expand out, there is a lateral force that makes everything spin. That lateral force could be God. That spin keeps everything going."

Another day has passed, and I have survived to share the vicissitudes of another day. I find I will be working very little this week , along with all of my fellow wage slaves, for there is no work! Time to apply for unemployment, for those of you who rely solely on this job to eat and live indoors. No sense just waiting around for more cash to survive on when the gummint is willing to give some away as long as you are willing to beg for it. So back home adding more music to the player to your right.

Well, now it is starting to come together. Things took a while to get familiar with, but now that I know what the limitations are for editing the html code I can actually get this this to do flips. I watched "I Am Legend" yesterday. Thought it was a pretty damn good movie for the most part. It could have been longer though. It's like movie producers are afraid of another Lord of the Rings calamity where everybody stopped talking about the movie and talked about how long the movie was. I don't want to give away the plot, not that it varies too much form the two prior versions, but it felt like a thinking movie. Yes, there was action, but there was enough depth of character to it that you could continue to glean more about the characters form each additional watching. Was withthe girlfriend getting my hand broke every time the zombies came out to play, and yes I call them zombies because that's what this is really, a zombie flick.

Not that I think I will ever actually see any kind of residual income from it, but I did ad AdSense to the page in the hopes that you will click on them and I will make money...Glorious precious, vile, dirty, sexy, evil Money. Or as it is pronounced for most people in the world "Moaney".

I think the last thing I will add to this blog is a haiku of mine.
